Year of establishment: The Department of Mathematics was initially attached with the Department of Commerce since the inception of the Institution in 1965. After a long period, the B.Sc. General course in Mathematics was introduced from the session 2010-11 under the affiliation of the West Bengal State university (WBSU). 

Courses Offered: The Department offers B.Sc. General Course (3-year Degree Course) in Science Stream where the subject 'Mathematics' is taken as a General/ Minor subject. Students can choose Four Core (CC) Papers, Two Elective (DSE) Papers and Two SEC Papers in different parts of Mathematics throughout the programme. Students are required to complete 44-Credits in the period of three years.
